Safety & Security

At the AGM on April 20th 2005 Councillor Duncan Sandys together with Councillor Danny Chalkley introduced two new schemes to be implemented by Westminster Council and the Metropolitan Police. The council is also planning to introduce improved lighting in the square.

Safer Neighbourhood which was launched 25th April, will provide more resources dedicated to crime prevention in the Vincent Square area. They will provide one sergeant, 4 police officers and 4 community support officers who can be contacted 24 hours a day on 020 87212876 or by text to mobile number 07810857227
PC John Smith
and Joanna Barber will be our main contacts and are currently working out of Belgravia Police Station. They are looking for premises in the Vincent Square area.
I will keep you posted.
If you need police attendance immediately, call 999.

Civic Watch
is being piloted in the Pimlico area and is anticipated to be launched throughout Westminster in October 2005. Civic Watch is a partnership between London Fire Brigade, Metropolitan Police Service, CityWest Homes and the City of Westminster and the community. The idea behind this partnership is that by sharing information, problems can be solved more quickly and we can avoid duplication using available resources in the most effective manner. You will be able to report anything you feel is affecting your quality of life e.g. anti social behaviour, street drinking, graffiti, slashed tyres etc.
