TENNIS SECTION REGULATIONS 2011
The VSRA tennis season begins again on Friday, 22 April 2011 and will end on Monday, 29 August 2011. Play is permitted on the following evenings and only at the following times.
Sunday evenings from 6pm to 8.45pm and Sunday mornings from 10am to 12am Monday evenings from 6pm to 8.45pm Friday evenings from 6pm to 8.45pm Saturday evenings from 6pm to 8.45pm
Outside term time, i.e. between 28 May to 5 June and 9 July to 29 August, we may also use 3 courts from Monday to Saturday from 2 to 4pm
Membership Members of the Tennis Section must be covered by Household (not corporate) Membership of the Vincent Square Residents’ Association. Members may invite up to three non-members to join them in a game on one court. There is no booking system, so, if others are waiting for a game, please limit your playing time to 20 minutes.
Access to the Courts The only access is through the gate on the West side of Vincent Square near to Westminster Under School and Osbert Street . (Please note that there is no access to the courts through the main gates). The gate opens by use of a fob, which will be issued to members on payment of a £20 returnable deposit, beforehand. Fobs must be returned within three weeks of the end of the playing season, i.e. before 19 September, otherwise the deposit will be forfeited. They must not, repeat not, be given to non-members. Nor should anyone be allowed in who is not with a fob holding member. Fobs will only allow entry at the times shown above and will not allow exit after 9pm.
Regulations which must be observed: Tennis shoes or equivalent must be worn on court Membership cards must be carried and be available for inspection by the Groundsman, Franklin Barrett, or myself. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Please do not leave any rubbish behind. Make sure the gate is closed securely when you leave the ground
The VSRA reserves the right to accept or refuse membership and the tennis secretary has absolute discretion on membership. Anyone who breaks the rules or whose conduct is considered detrimental to the enjoyment by others of tennis membership or who causes a nuisance to VSRA officeholders may have their tennis membership withdrawn without reimbursement. Tennis members are liable for the conduct of the rest of the household and of any guests. Every tennis member must sign these rules saying they have read and understood them and that the fobholder and any guests will abide by them.
